Disneyland Park: An Introduction
This is the first gate in the resort, and what most people think of when they think of the resort. It is a magical place where fantasy becomes reality in five different lands. It is also the second-largest Magic Kingdom-style park behind Shanghai Disneyland, and allegedly the most beautiful one.
Areas in this park:
- Main Street, U.S.A.
- Frontierland
- Adventureland
- Fantasyland
- Discoveryland
Despite being the most-visited theme park in Europe today, Disneyland Park has a troubled history. When the park was announced, the French people were surprisingly hostile, seeing it as an act of American imperialism. As the park was being built, cultural clashes and a focus more on Europe than France led to further criticism, leading many people to boycott the park in early years. Because of this, the attendance was much lower than hoped for, and the resort failed financially. Luckily, after making some cultural compromises and adding some new attractions, the resort began to make profit. Now, it is a top-tier tourist destination, with more people seeing it than the Eiffel Tower.
