Disneyland Park: Main Street, U.S.A.


 Like most Disneyland parks, guests enter the park through Main Street U.S.A. This recreates a Midwestern American Town at the turn of the Twentieth Century. Aside from taking inspiration from Walt Disney's hometown of Marceline, Missouri, it also pays tribute to America as a whole, taking inspiration from many cities throughout the country.

In order to get into the park, guests go through the Fantasia Gardens and then go under the Disneyland Hotel. This makes guests wonder if there is a park behind, but once they reach the other side, they see it very well. After going through security, they enter into Town Square. In the center is a charming gazebo. Behind them is the Main Street station for the Disneyland Railroad, where trains depart to Frontierland. On the left side is the City Hall, where guests find help and services, as well as the Storybook Store. On the right is the Main Street firehouse. Around this area, guests can board the Main Street Vehicles, which include a firetruck, horse-drawn carriages, and period automobiles. This is also where guests can access one of two covered walkways leading through the back side of the shops and restaurants of the street. Liberty Arcade is on the left, and celebrates the Statue of Liberty. On the right is Discovery Arcade, where visionaries like Leonardo da Vinci and Jules Verne are immortalized.
If guests choose to go down the street itself, they will find several shops and restaurants. On the left is the largest shop in the park, the Emporium, as well as the Dapper Dan's Haircuts. On the right, guests will find the New Century Notions Flora's Unique Boutique, Boardwalk Candy Palace, Disney Clothiers, and Main Street Motors. An intersecting street breaks the two blocks up whilst giving guests access to the Arcades. On the left, guests will find Walt's: An American Restaurant, Lillian's Boutique, Disney & Co., and Casey's Corner, while on the right is Ice Cream Company and the Market House Deli, home of the Croque-Monsieur sandwich, Cable Car Bake Shop and its walk-up window, Cookie Kitchen, Harrington's Fine China and Porcelains, and Gibson Girl Ice Cream Parlor, as well as Victoria's Home-Style Restaurant.
At the end of the street is Central Plaza, where all of the other lands are accessible. From left to right, they are Frontierland, Adventureland, Fantasyland, and Discoveryland. En route to Fantasyland to the right of the castle is a stage where live shows play, and the Plaza Gardens Restaurant is found to the right of Discoveryland's entrance.

When making Main Street, Disney Imagineers wanted it to be elegant, as well as meticulous to detail. To achieve this, they used forced perspective, different-colored bricks, and oil lamps turning to gas lamps as the guests go down the streets. The Arcades were a European nod, as well as to steer crowd traffic. Although original ideas included a gritty 1920's Main Street, paying tribute to Detective Noir films, they eventually scrapped it and went with a friendlier, cleaner Main Street for what they wanted to be their most beautiful park.

This is where guests enter the park. They enter a Hollywood theater district where shows, attractions, and other things can be found. It is a callback to the film industry that created these worlds that guests are about to explore. When first entering the park, guests come into the Place des Freres Lumieres (Brothers Lumiere Place), which is named after the inventors of the film industry who played black and white videos for a live audience in the late 1800s. Disney Adventure World: Adventure Way

 Going beyond World Premiere Plaza is a walkway that connects the themed lands together. It is a Victorian-style street known as Adventure Way, home to family attractions and elegant gardens. It's a celebration of Disney stories and an invitation to go on an adventure, as well as a place that makes for a scenic stroll. As they make their way down the road, guests will see two gardens. To their right is the Toy Story Garden, which transitions into the Worlds of Pixar, while on the left is the English Garden, where musical shows will play. As they go further down, they will enter the Adventure Garden on the left, home to the upcoming swing ride Wilderness Explorers Sky Swings, while on the right is the Tangled Garden, home to Raiponce Tangled Spin, a Teacups ride inspired by the lantern lagoon scene in Tangled.
