Disneyland Park: Adventureland

 

In this tropical land, guests are invited to explore the exotic corners of the world, crossing paths with archaeologists, pirates, legendary figures, and more. In addition, they can immerse themselves in the cultures of the Middle East, Africa, India, and the Caribbean.

When entering the land from Central Plaza, guests come into a Middle Eastern palace with an elegant chandelier. On the other side, they find a vast bazaar. On the left is the indoor walkthrough attraction, Le Passage Enchante d'Aladdin (Aladdin's enchanted passage.) Going to the right, guests can find the Agrabah Cafe Restaurant and Les Trezors de Schazerade (Schazerade's Treasures.)
As guests turn left, they begin walking past an East African mud building, home to Le Girafe Curieuse (The Curious Giraffe), home to an animatronic giraffe who peeks in every now and then. Also around here is the Cafe de la Brousse (Bush Cafe) snack stand. Further on, guests find an African hut, home to the Restaurant Hakuna Matata, a Lion King-themed restaurant.
Continuing past near borders to Frontierland, guests will find an area recreating India in the 1930s. Here, they can shop at the Indiana Jones Adventure Outpost. Nearby, they can find a statue of Carl Fredrickson and Russell from Up, as well as a British colonial building housing Colonel Hathi's Outpost Restaurant, named after the leader of the elephant jungle patrol in The Jungle Book. Also around here is the Cool Post snack stand. If guests go upwards, they will find the crumbling ruins of an Indian temple, home to the roller coaster known as Indiana Jones et le Temple du Peril (Indiana Jones and the Temple of Peril.) Nearby is the Temple Traders Boutique.
In the center of the land is an island, Adventure Isle, an exploration attraction drawing inspiration from many pirate stories. This area is home to La Cabane des Robinson (Robinson Treehouse), the Pirate Galleon, and La Plage des Pirates (Pirates Beach.) The previous two attractions are walkthroughs while the third is a play area. Located nearby in the upper right corner of the land, north from the Middle Eastern area, is a Spanish Caribbean fortress. This is where Pirates of the Caribbean is housed. Looking into the ride is Captain Jack's - Restaurant des Pirates (Captain Jack's Pirate Restaurant), while Le Coffre du Captaine (The Captain's Quarters) is a gift shop.

When designing Adventureland, Imagineers were faced with a challenge. They were going to build a tropical-themed land in a not-so-tropical location. Since the Parisian climate was colder than they were used to working with, Imagineers improvised by bringing in plants that looked exotic but were still able to stand in cooler weather. But because of this, they couldn't do a Jungle Cruise attraction, so instead, they leaned more towards exploration attractions.

 Like most Disneyland parks, guests enter the park through Main Street U.S.A. This recreates a Midwestern American Town at the turn of the Twentieth Century. Aside from taking inspiration from Walt Disney's hometown of Marceline, Missouri, it also pays tribute to America as a whole, taking inspiration from many cities throughout the country. In order to get into the park, guests go through the Fantasia Gardens and then go under the Disneyland Hotel. Disney Adventure World: World Premiere Plaza

This is where guests enter the park. They enter a Hollywood theater district where shows, attractions, and other things can be found. It is a callback to the film industry that created these worlds that guests are about to explore. When first entering the park, guests come into the Place des Freres Lumieres (Brothers Lumiere Place), which is named after the inventors of the film industry who played black and white videos for a live audience in the late 1800s. In the center is a statue of sorcerer Mickey with the living brooms, as seen in Fantasia. On the right is a stroller rental area alongside the Studio Photo, while on the right is the Studio Store. From there, guests enter a large soundstage, where they are immersed in 1930s Hollywood. This walkway is the World Premiere.  Going beyond World Premiere Plaza is a walkway that connects the themed lands together. It is a Victorian-style street known as Adventure Way, home to family attractions and elegant gardens. It's a celebration of Disney stories and an invitation to go on an adventure, as well as a place that makes for a scenic stroll. As they make their way down the road, guests will see two gardens. To their right is the Toy Story Garden, which transitions into the Worlds of Pixar, while on the left is the English Garden, where musical shows will play. As they go further down, they will enter the Adventure Garden on the left, home to the upcoming swing ride Wilderness Explorers Sky Swings, while on the right is the Tangled Garden, home to Raiponce Tangled Spin, a Teacups ride inspired by the lantern lagoon scene in Tangled.
